The National Speech & Debate Association Announces the 2023-2024 National Team

Every year the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA) chooses the top students in the country to represent the United States internationally in World Schools Debate. Over the past 10 years, we have seen amazing success from the national team - including the Championship title at the World Schools Debating Championships this past summer. For those unaware, the WSDC tournament is like the Olympics of debate and requires a strong team and dedicated coaches to make it to the top. This was no easy feat! Belated congratulations to coaches Aaron Timmons, Cindi Timmons, Aditya Dhar, and the rest of their staff on this accomplishment.

While many students fought hard for the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the class of 2022-2023, this year’s team has finally been announced. Alongside these new representative debaters (whose names and schools you can find below), we have also been introduced to a new coaching staff! Christopher Vincent and Shania Hunt will be leading the team this year alongside returning coach Aditya Dhar. We look forward to seeing how they will lead the best of the best to new heights this upcoming season. You can also find the list of students who will be on the World Schools Debate Educational Program (formerly known as the Development Team) which will help students bring the WSD format to their respective areas in the country. Congrats to all!
