Big Wins Are Gained at NDCA, Longhorn Districts, and DUDA Middle School Championships

This past weekend we kept track of 3 tournaments. Let’s dive into the results!

NDCA

In the NDCA’s World Schools division, the final round was between Hockaday on the proposition and Greenhill on the opposition. They debated the motion: TH supports the saying "That government is best which governs least." On a 3-2 decision, Greenhill emerged victorious. Congratulations to Kaden Alibhai, Angela Kamgang, Aditi Vikram, Vivaan Gupta and Varun Mukund!

Longhorn District Qualifiers

In the Longhorn District, a tournament was hosted to determine the national qualifiers from the area. Ultimately, the top seed at the tournament was Flower Mound! Congratulations to Poorvi Kumar, Aditi Singh, and Arjun Patil!

As per the tournament rules, the districts team will be: Poorvi Kumar, Aditi Singh, Arjun Patil, Shreyes Ram, Aali Shah, Effie Shen, Aanya Nuna, Sanjeev Gedela, Meher Talreja, and Krish Gandhi.

The top speakers at the tournament were:

DUDA Middle School 

Meanwhile, the middle schoolers in Dallas threw down at the DUDA tournament. In the advanced division, Irma decided to debate against Irma for an excellent round on “This House would ban the testing of cosmetics and household products on animals”. Ultimately, the opposition team won the debate. Congratulations to Jasmin Valdez, Perla Flores, Aria Godinez, and Fernanda Fernandez!

In the beginner division, Solar Preparatory School for Girls closed out the final round. Congratulations to Elsa Berg, Hannah Zegeye, and Kristen Roman & Sierra Brant, Emily Sharma, and Olive Kennedy!
